Traditionally, used cars dealers leave preparation of cars until a car is sold. This saves cost, but ultimately leaves customers waiting – not great service if you’re excited about picking up your new car!

It can also mean things are rushed, with quality suffering when it comes to assessing scratches, refurbishing kerbed wheels, or painting bumper scuffs.

Here at Prestige Cars Kent, innovation is at our heart, and we considered how we could make the buying experience as effortless as possible, just as if you were shopping on Amazon.

Earlier this year, we launched our full buying online option, and have now followed this up with Next Day Delivery; a virtually unthinkable aspiration for used car dealerships.

Committed to quality

However, we’re not simply focused on working quickly – we care about the quality, too.

Our new 175-point Quality Check process includes removing bumper scuffs, areas with multiple scratches, fixing pin dents and refurbishing wheels. For cars under a year old, we’ll go even further to make it as close to a new car experience as possible – we’ll fix any scratch found over 1cm!

Once a car has gone through the Quality Check process, final sign off is carried out by our Progress Chaser, Daniel Bush.

Daniel commented,

“I have been in the industry for some years, including main dealer experience, and haven’t seen this level of attention to detail previously.”

Investing into our future

We now only book appointments to view cars on the condition that the vehicle is fully prepared and meet the 175-point criteria. Without significant investment into our people, facilities and processes, the ability to turn around cars fast enough to offer Next Day Delivery would have been impossible.

Our Managing Director - Joe Chadd - commented on the new process, saying,

“During this time of adversity, we have sought to innovate and make the buying process as hassle-free and convenient as possible. With Next Day Delivery a staple term in most retail environments, we wanted to show we are doing the same. Our new promise is unseen in the used car arena, and I’m proud in our teams achievement.”

With the opening of our dedicated Service Centre , and investment into our existing workshop facilities, our ability to tackle almost all work in-house means we offer enviable turnaround time and have a close eye on quality control. It’s also the reason behind our standard 6 Month Warranty on all cars.
